The Mikogo Team is now Twittering

Mikogo is stretching its neck out into the world of Twitter and sharing news & tweets with a growing number of followers. Drop by our Twitter page and check out the ride that is Mikogo on Twitter

Yes, we have jumped on board the Twitter bandwagon and so far enjoying the trip. Over the last couple of weeks we have been:

receiving messages from Mikogo Twitter users who wanted to say Hi to the Mikogo Team
informing others about Mikogo’s free screen sharing
reading interesting news stories shared by our followers
and sharing interesting stories from around the Web

We’ve also met people from around the world who messaged us regarding their interest in using Mikogo’s free desktop sharing for their online meetings.

So far I must say we’ve been enjoying the tweets and the messages that we’ve been receiving. Such as Rick letting us know that he finds Mikogo “VERY handy for troubleshooting and support issues” and then dropped by our blog to leave a comment.
Or my personal favourite, being reminded by Wayne of the current warm summer temperatures back home in Australia. Cheers

How do you use Mikogo? Share how you use Mikogo and learn from others

Following the great response and comments we received in our v2.0 feedback survey as well as the translation poll, we thought it would be nice to see how Mikogo is being used. This is a great way for Mikogo users to learn from others and read about other ways that they can use Mikogo’s free screen sharing.

The Polls:
What do you use Mikogo for?
Who do you use Mikogo with?

As there are many great ways to benefit from Mikogo’s free desktop sharing, these 2 polls will give the Mikogo Commmunity a great chance to hear directly from other Mikogo users on what they can use Mikogo for and who they can use it with. From this you might even find new uses for Mikogo that you hadn’t thought of.

So place your vote in the two polls below and feel free to leave a comment if you would like to leave a little more detail on how you use Mikogo, or if you would like to ask other Mikogo users.

It will be interesting to see the results and hear from Mikogo users in the comments below. What do you expect to be in the majority? Online meetings or Web presentations? Mikogo with colleagues or clients? Check out the polls and see for yourself:

The Global Mikogo Community

Something we have noticed over recent months, is the repeated mention of Mikogo on a range of different sorts of blogs and websites, and interestingly, in a vast amount of different languages. This led us to the obvious question: Where in the world are the Mikogo users?

At this point, the Mikogo Community is comprised of users from over 160 countries! Based on this, it is easy to imagine how Mikogo facilitates greater communication across the globe via the Internet and free desktop sharing.
It really is great to see that Mikogo is being enjoyed in so many countries. Considering that Mikogo is in English, it comes as no surprise that our free online meeting app is used primarily in the USA. However Mikogo is clearly popular in more countries than just the English-speaking world, and therefore it is definitely one of our big plans this year to have Mikogo translated into several languages – an exciting task at hand, and something that will no doubt appeal to thousands of Mikogo users around the world.
For those who enjoy a good blogging session, we would love to see more and more blog posts about Mikogo in your own native language. If you are blogging about Mikogo, feel free to let us know about your post by leaving a comment below.

Time to Translate Mikogo: Vote for your language and Join the Mikogo Translator Community

As you may be aware, we have been planning a new-look website for Mikogo. Following the launch of the new website, we’ll be keen to make headway quickly on getting Mikogo into several new languages.

The question: what will be the next language for Mikogo? German? Spanish? Polish? Let us know what you think should be the next language. Simply vote below by checking the tickbox next to your language of choice, and then click on “Vote” at the bottom.

Interested in translating Mikogo?
In order to translate Mikogo into further languages, we are searching for volunteers to assist the Mikogo Team. Several people have already contacted us over the last 12 months offering to volunteer and translate Mikogo into their native language. This has been great and we look forward to seeing more people raise their hand & join the growing Mikogo Translator Community.

So if you’re keen to see Mikogo in your native language, please get in contact with us by sending us an email to team@mikogo.com or by leaving a comment below.

The more volunteers, the merrier – and most importantly, you’ll have Mikogo in your own language even sooner.
