Mikogo Version 4.3 – Today’s Mandatory Upgrade
We’ve been stress testing both the latest version of Mikogo, Version 4.3, and the previous version, Version 4.2. From this we can confidently say that Version 4.3 brings with it greater performance and stability in comparison to Version 4.2. On top of that, we have also fixed several bugs within the software which you can read about on our release notes page.
Due to the significant improvement in performance and stability of Version 4.3 over the previous Mikogo release, we are implementing a mandatory upgrade today. Please read on for further details.

Introducing the Mikogo Freemium Model – Message from Founders
Four years ago, Mikogo was created from an idea by our company, BeamYourScreen which since 2004 has developed and operated business desktop sharing solutions. Numerous private individuals approached our company asking for a free online meeting tool for personal use. None of the big corporations, such as WebEx, were offering free solutions for personal use and we came to strongly believe that the private user was missing out. With this in mind, we decided to create Mikogo, a free desktop sharing tool for private users.
What started as an idea in 2007 has since developed into a service soon to reach 1 million registered users in 180 countries worldwide. We are thrilled at how many people support our work and enjoy our software – thank you!
Today we bring you an important message about how together we will sustain Mikogo as a high-quality desktop sharing program. We will soon introduce a freemium model to Mikogo. This is a big step for us and we ask that you please read the following blog post.

Mikogo Now Compatible with Mac OS X Lion (10.7)
We have released an update, Version 4.3, for the Mikogo Mac software. This update now provides full compatibility with Mac OS X Lion – the most recent and advanced operating system released by Apple. The new Mikogo Version 4.3 software for Mac is now available for download from our website.

Mikogo Downtime: Scheduled Maintenance for Tues. 9th August
Due to scheduled maintenance by our data center, next Tuesday, 9th August, both Mikogo Version 4 and Version 3 will be unavailable and you will not be able to start or join sessions. This will take place at 11pm CET (Central European Time), which is 2pm PST and 5pm EST. The downtime is expected to last 4 hours.
Unfortunately this is out of our control. The reason for this downtime is because our server data center has informed us that they will shut down for this period. Consequently we cannot avoid this.

Login to the New MyAccount – Now Available
We have just released the new MyAccount for Mikogo! This is available on all the Mikogo websites which means it’s available in 8 languages. For example if you wish to access MyAccount in Spanish, please go to www.mikogo.es and click on “Mi Cuenta” in the menu bar at the top of the Mikogo homepage.
There are several options and areas available in MyAccount which we’ll go into detail for you below in this blog post.
