Getting Down and Technical: Mikogo and Software Development
Last week we spotlighted Mikogo’s role in the fine art of software sales, but today we’ve looked at its role in the entire process of software development. Whether a company makes and customizes a single basic product or builds entire enterprise-level systems for each customer, there’s a lot of back-and-forth among customers, project managers and developers. Whenever your team members can’t all be in the same room, Mikogo makes it seem like you are.
Software development is handled remotely with increasing frequency. Some companies outsource portions of their development, and others have in-house teams that aren’t always on-site. Rob Smith works for DotCom Your Event, a Toronto software company that makes software for event registration. A number of their developers and other staff members work from home at least part of the time, and he tells us that Mikogo puts everyone literally on the same page during development meetings.
“Mikogo solves the problem that each person attending needs to see the monitor being used during development meetings,” he says.
We also talk to a project manager for an Australian developer of ERP software, Uniware Pty. Ltd., and she tells us how Mikogo lets her demonstrates features in development to clients, and handle training and support questions down the line.
As software providers ourselves, we’re pleased to see Mikogo become such a big help to other companies that are creating new software solutions.
