How do you use Mikogo? Share how you use Mikogo and learn from others

Andrew – January 30, 2009

Following the great response and comments we received in our v2.0 feedback survey as well as the translation poll, we thought it would be nice to see how Mikogo is being used. This is a great way for Mikogo users to learn from others and read about other ways that they can use Mikogo’s free screen sharing.

The Polls:
What do you use Mikogo for?
Who do you use Mikogo with?

As there are many great ways to benefit from Mikogo’s free desktop sharing, these 2 polls will give the Mikogo Commmunity a great chance to hear directly from other Mikogo users on what they can use Mikogo for and who they can use it with. From this you might even find new uses for Mikogo that you hadn’t thought of.

So place your vote in the two polls below and feel free to leave a comment if you would like to leave a little more detail on how you use Mikogo, or if you would like to ask other Mikogo users.

It will be interesting to see the results and hear from Mikogo users in the comments below. What do you expect to be in the majority? Online meetings or Web presentations? Mikogo with colleagues or clients? Check out the polls and see for yourself:

I use Mikogo mainly for supporting my parents and in-laws. This is a fantastic remote support tool, and does great to share my screen with them to show them how to use new applications. I really like the Skype integration, that’s the best part of it all that it’s so easy to use!

I find Mikogo very helpful. I use it for remote support for my friends and family. I have also used it for online meetings with my clients, but not that often.

    Thanks to the Mikogo Team!

    Cheers!

The old version of Mikogo was faster – its a shame that we couldn’t pick from the 2 versions so that I could have the older faster Mikogo!

When I try to use Mikogo it says this feature not allowed. Any suggestions?

  13. Andrew on February 5, 2009 at 11:48 am

    @ David,
When exactly do you get this message? Are you using Mikogo or the Mikogo Skype Extra? I would suggest posting this in the Mikogo Forum where the moderators and Mikogo Community answer support queries.
    Cheers.

I’m using your software in Ubuntu Linux 8.04 with Wine 1.1.13. It appears to work just fine…thought you might want to know that because this could be helpful to point out to Linux users, and the Email that delivers the software only links to an .exe file which could mislead some.

    @ Ronna
This is currently not available, as mentioned here: http://www.mikogo.com/2008/10/30/new-mikogo-version-available/comment-page-1/#comment-111
However with the BeamYourScreen HTML viewer there is a URL which allows any computer, PCs and MACs, to join a BeamYourScreen session

How do you keep the service free ?
Will it always be free ? or will there be a fee service in the future ?

  19. Andrew on February 10, 2009 at 4:54 pm

I use Mikogo to help my elderly mother, who lives 2000 miles away, when she runs into problems with her computer (including image manipulation – she’s an artist). Instead of both of us getting enormously frustrated trying to do things over the phone, we just Mikogo and everyone ends up happy.

Mikogo has been a very important marketing and training tool. New clients and/or colleagues go thru a learning curve on new technology. It’s so much easier for people WATCH how something is done instead of reading directions. I SHOW them on my desktop how something is done or how our product/service works; and Mikogo has made that possible for me over the internet.
